Happy Easter everyone!
We have reached the tough decision to retire WOW Women On the Water after years of seminars, demonstrations and regatta’s! We hope that everyone that participated had fun, camaraderie and maybe even learned more about boating!

WOW Regatta

Hello Ladies

The WOW Regatta is on at EYC June 18, 9am registration, 10am Skippers meeting, 11:30 off the dock for hopefully 3 races. Dinner at 6, awards at 7. Sponsors so far are, Transat Marine a Spinlock Deck vest, UK Sails with a bottle of wine per boat and Fogh Boat Supplies with many more prizes! $15 to race, $15 for dinner, WOW!

WOW Regatta 2016

Hello everyone

We are happy to announce that the 6th WOW Regatta will be held Saturday June 18th hosted by Etobicoke Yacht Club again this year. We will be sending out registration forms shortly! If you are interested in receiving information, please email us at wow.womenonthewater@gmail.com  You must be pre-registered by June 10th!

We look forward to another fun filled day starting at 9am registration in the club house at EYC, skippers meeting at 10 and off the dock by 11:30. There will be 2 starts this year, a spinnaker then a white sail (providing we have enough boats for spin class)

The day will end with a catered dinner at 6pm of Chicken Breast Forestier or a Portabella Mushroom stuffed with goat cheese, followed by the ever popular award presentations!

Always a fun filled day with women helping women on the water, WOW!

WOW Regatta June 20

Ahoy women sailboat racers
We are now only 2 weeks from our Women On the Water (WOW) Regatta. We are happy to report that we have more than 12 boats registered and we will have a new spinnaker start this year! Our dinner and awards are included with your registration of $25 cash at sign in (sorry we do not have a debit machine). So if you were thinking about joining us with or without a boat, now is the time to do it as we are almost full and have to close registration by June 14 (or sooner) and overnight slips are filling up fast!! Sign in starts at 9am, instructions at 10, on the water by 11:30ish for 3 races (weather permitting), dinner at 6pm, awards at 7!

Counting down, under four weeks now!

We are counting down to under four weeks away for the 5th WOW Regatta June 20!
We have seven boats signed so far, Rhumb Punch EYC defending their 1st place in 2014 with Serious (OC) challenging in spinnaker start. Uncorked (Newport) is back to try to claim their 1st place flag from earlier regatta’s! Liberty Belle (BPYC) and Wave Train want to move up from their positions in 2014! Then, where will the newcomers fit in? Everyone has fun and  it’s all very exciting as the 5th WOW Regatta shapes up.
Pulled pork dinner will be included in your registration fee of cash only $25. at registration 9am, and guests (yes that includes the husbands and partners) welcome to dinner for $15, again cash only (we don’t have a debit machine)!
The after dinner the awards and prizes are still coming in, CMC Electronics have stepped up with the 1st place prize of a Raymarine  VHF Radio, and Skippers Plan are once again putting in the 2nd prize. “The Store” Fogh Boat Supplies has added in a prize as well as Alex Milne and Associates have something for everyone (Thanks Bill, always great environmentally safe products). Ontario Sailing has once again come through with our 1st, 2nd & 3rd palace flags! Ontario Sailing Magazine is supporting us with 5 classified ads and one ¼ page w/colour ad, so we will be doing a special draw for that at dinner! Thank you Port Credit Yacht Club for sponsoring the committee boat and Etobicoke Yacht Club for hosting the event!

WOW Regatta Fast Approaching

Hello Ladies
Race day is getting closer (June 20th) and here is approximatly how the day plays out:
we normally check in at 9 am, have coffee and snacks, then we start our skippers meeting and explain the course. We then assign crew to the boats that have room. We do try to balance experienced with inexperienced crew as it is also about getting women out on the water. We try to leave the dock around 11:30ish and race 3 races (weather permitting) This year we have a spinnaker start and a white sail start (providing we have boats to start spin). When the racing is done, we get together for cocktails and tell racing stories at about 4pm. Dinner is served about 6pm and the awards are presented just as we finish dessert! Dinner is included in your entrance fee of $25 cash, guests are $15 cash extra and must be registered. Drinks are available from the bar at EYC or BYOB under the tent!
Docking is no charge at EYC for the racers, we just need to know 1 week prior to so that we can reserve you a spot. Any more questions, please email us at wow.womenonthewater@gmail.com
